Membership Application Process

How can I join Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club?

Application forms are only issued to members who intend to propose an applicant for membership. The proposer may contact the club to obtain an application form and details of their responsibilities.

To join Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club you will need a proposer, a seconder and two referees. Proposers and seconders must be current, financial members for four years before nominating a new member; and referees must be current, financial members for two years before nominating a new member. The proposer, seconder and two referees cannot be related to the applicant, nor each other.

The proposer, seconder and two referees will be asked independently to describe the applicant and qualify the applicant’s suitability for membership.

Applicants must attend an interview with a SSCBC committee member at the club. These interviews are scheduled on a quarterly basis, and appointments are necessary and can be booked through the office administration.

Once interviewed, new applications are tabled at a Committee meeting for approval.

Approved applicants will be contacted with a welcome pack.

What is the waiting time?

Membership intake occurs on a quarterly basis. The waiting time for membership approval is dependent on membership interview availability.

If you require any further information, please email the club.
