At SSCBC we have three main pathways in our Sailing Program with both providing further sailing opportunities for Junior and Youth members.

SSCBC currently conducts a Learn to Sail Program over the summer holidays which is named “SSCBC Sail and Play”, offering Levels 1, 2, 3 and Pacers. This reputable program is a Yachting Victoria and Yachting Australia accredited learn to sail program. It is fun, fast and aimed at participants from the age of 7 who are after some great summer holiday fun with friends and family. Adults and teenagers also have the ability to discover sailing in our 2 person Pacers.

Tackers is a pathway of Learn to Sail through to Club Racer. We schedule Tackers throughout the Easter and September School Holidays and Saturdays during Term 4 and Term 1. This provides an opportunity for children aged 7 – 12 to Learn to Sail and follow pathways into active Club participation and racing.

Following the successful introduction of our new coaching initiative last season, SSCBC will once again provide a comprehensive and exciting coaching and racing program for the benefit of all of sailors for the coming season. Designed to cater for sailors of all ages and skill levels, our Learn to Sail, Tackers and Junior & Youth Coaching initiatives successfully capture the needs of our many dinghy sailors while providing opportunities for all of our members to compete in the Clubs racing program. The Club has this year committed to further enhance its team of coaches and has created the position of Sailing and Development Manager, whose focus will be to continue to develop the quality and delivery of service while adopting the latest and best practises available. All of our coaching and training programs from beginner to elite level are structured to meet the various requirements of sailors who wish to continually improve their skills or for those who wish to simply enjoy the sport of sailing.

Our team of dedicated coaches are all committed to provide an inclusive, enjoyable and fun experience to all who wish to participate in the many and varied opportunities available throughout the season and beyond.

I commend the SSCBC sailing program to you and look forward to your participation in what I am sure will be another fabulous season of sailing at the Club.
