We had 23 talented participants apply to travel to represent both SSCBC and Australia in the Global Team Race Regatta to be held at New York Yacht Club from 21-24 July 2022. The Selection Committee comprised Club Captain Tim Collett, Hamish Hurley, Ben Fels and David White. They had a very difficult decision to select eight sailors from this talented crew, who all put up a compelling case to be selected. Abiding by the pre-set criteria, the Selection Committee reduced the 23 participants down to 14. From there, they picked the two strongest helms in this format of racing and built the team around them. The Selection Committee also wanted to balance past experience and opportunity. With that in mind, the team selected is 50% of people who have travelled to the Global Team Race Regatta previously.
