In support of those impacted by the ongoing bushfires around the country, Australian Sailing and SSCBC, with the support of the Australian Sailing Team, Australia SailGP Team, Zhik and Ronstan, will be hosting a fundraising auction during the Presentation Ceremony of the 2020 Australian Youth Championships on the evening of Tuesday 14 January. Some of the auction items will include:
- An afternoon cruise for 4 people on our Division 1 Couta Boat, Ripple, with Australian Sailing Team athlete Sam Phillips followed by dinner for 4 to the value of $500 in the dining room
- An Australia SailGP Team experience pack for two valued at over $1,500, including Australia SailGP Team backpacks, T-shirts, hats, Premium Shark Island tickets for both Friday and Saturday, a tour of the SailGP base which will include a meet and greet with some of the Australia SailGP team and one CRU Jacket
- A Gold Medal Australian Sailing Team training experience for two with Mat Belcher, Will Ryan and Victor Kovalenko, with a winner and a guest to join Victor on his coach boat for a training session with the Olympic Gold and Silver Medallists followed by a catered breakfast and debrief with the team at Middle Harbour Yacht Club. This prize also includes a $250 gift pack from Ronstan for sailors containing timers, rashies and other equipment and a Flame Red Zhik Mens Z-Cru Jacket (RRP $219).
- A Matt Wearn signed merchandise package, including a signed Australian Sailing Team shirt and one of Matt’s rudders signed by the Tokyo 2020 Olympian. This prize also includes a $250 gift pack from Ronstan for sailors containing timers, rashies and other equipment and a Flame Red Zhik Mens Z-Cru Jacket (RRP $219).
- A training session with Jake Lilley, the Australian Sailing Team’s Finn 2016 Rio Olympian, along with a rashie signed by the entire 2016 Australian Rio Olympic Sailing Team. The training session can be in any of Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane at an agreed date (Jake’s will be in all major cities at some point in 2020, responsibility for travel to the venue is with the winner), with Jake to host a lunch after the training. This prize also includes a $250 gift pack from Ronstan for sailors containing timers, rashies and other equipment and a Flame Red Zhik Mens Z-Cru Jacket (RRP $219).
- A coaching session hosted by Nacra 17 Rio Silver Medalist Lisa Darmanin on Sydney Harbour. Lisa will coach one lucky winner for a coaching session anywhere on Sydney Harbour, with Lisa to coach from the water and then host a lunch at a local venue immediately following the session. This prize also includes a $250 gift pack from Ronstan for sailors containing timers, rashies and other equipment and a Flame Red Zhik Mens Z-Cru Jacket (RRP $219)
Proceeds from the auction will go to the Red Cross Disaster and Recovery Fund.
