Well we certainly endured some challenging wind on Sunday for the resail of the the Div 2 GANT Portsea Cup Mark III. There was a strong easterly earlier in the day which swung to a northerly before the scheduled start time of 1100hrs, so the team repositioned the start and relaid the course. Ten minutes into the race, we experienced a 20% wind shift and the breeze then faded, so consequently the race was abandoned, as it was considered unfair to continue.
This was not what the models predicted!
At 1145hrs we reviewed the situation and recorded zero breeze. At 1200hrs, one of our race management boats recorded a SE breeze, another recorded NE breeze, which we later put down to GPS error.
On the verge of abandoning the race AGAIN, the breeze filled in, and race management team reset the course AGAIN at lightening speed, and we got another race away at 1213hrs. The breeze continued to shift, but we shortened the course and got a race in.

3rd: Morning Star C157
