Expression of Interest – Due 30 January 2022
SSCBC has been invited to represent Australia to take part in the Global Team Racing Regatta due to take place at New York Yacht Club from 21-24 July 2022. This Regatta is our flagship event that is in our Sailing Strategy. SSCBC supports our sailors by covering the entry fee and accommodation for the event. The sailors will cover all other expenses such as travel and food.
The team will be made up of 8 sailors with a minimum of 3 males/females on the team. There are many eligible Team Sorrento sailors who could represent the Club, however unfortunately, not everyone will get to go. A selection committee will be made up to make that difficult decision, comprising the Club Captain, Sailing Manager, Training Manager and a Next Gen representative who will not be going to the event themselves.
The selection committee will be making their decision on the following criteria:
- How active they were at SSCBC this season in all activities (Couta Boats, Friday twilights, Next Gen events etc);
- How involved they were at Team Sorrento events (NSL, VIS Cup etc);
- Past Sailing experience in sailing (Team Racing, fleet racing and small keelboat sailing); and
- Commitment to the training program in the lead up to the event.
