The Lightweight Sharpies are coming to Sorrento on the weekend of 19/20 October for some fleet racing and a match racing series.
Saturday morning will see the fleet do some boat tuning and then in the afternoon – after School Sailing Coaching finishes at Davies Bay – we head out for a Sprint Series of 6-7 short and sharp races. We’ll probably have some WASZPs run across the course as well.
Sunday will be a match racing series and Mark Ablett will have some crew spots for our up and coming Match and Team race squad sailors.
We’ll be running this as a training regatta for our Volunteers as well. Each morning we’ll have a mini seminar concentrating on specific regatta roles and then we’ll get out there on the race course and put it into practice with the Sharpies.
The Volunteer training opportunities will be sent to all the Volunteers that have registered for the Australian Youth Championships, with a focus on training our newest Volunteers. Contact Ben Fels at the club for further details.
