Our Sailing Centre covers all of your family’s needs to be active on the water. Our Sailing Centre is split into six areas from entry programs for those who are not regular sailors: Cara na Mara, Stripy Squad, OutThere Sailing, She Sails, Adult Coaching and Couta Coaching. These courses are staged through age brackets and more details are in the programs below.
Once you have progressed through our programs, sailors are then able to join Team Sorrento which has a number of paths that can be discovered, depending upon what type of sailor you want to be. Whether you want to fly above the water, enjoy the thrill of being a racer, delve into tactical battles or pass on your skills to others by being an instructor, we have a pathway for you.
Cara na Mara (5-7 years olds)
The first step to our SSCBC junior pathway is Cara na Mara (“Friends Of The Sea”) which is a fun filled sailing course for 5 – 7 year olds.
Stripey Squad (7-11 year olds)
Stripy Squad courses allow sailors to learn to sail, build up sailing skills, gain confidence, have fun and make new friends.
OutThere Sailing (12-17 year olds)
OutThere Sailing provides teenagers with the opportunity to learn sailing, paddle boarding and a power boat experience.
She Sails and Powerboat Courses
She Sails is a female only course which is run by female instructors. The course runs for 2 ½ hours per day, for four days (10 hours in total).
After graduating from learning to sail in our Stripy Squad program (or if you have previous sailing experience), the next step in our pathway is Team Sorrento.
Private lessons are tailored to specific needs. They are a great way for children who are starting sailing a little later to catch up with those of a similar age, or perhaps give children or teens who lack confidence on the water that extra boost before commencing a Sail & Play course.
Adult Learn to Sail
Adult Learn to Sail is the ideal course to get out on dinghies and learn the basics.
