That’s the ‘Nature’ of Sailing

The Continental Sorrento Cup

The weather models were showing that maybe we might have a really variable North Easterly all week before firming up that we would it was only a chance we would have sailable winds for racing:

The chance didn’t eventuate at briefing time, the Race Committee continued to look at the conditions for an hour but given there was no suggested breeze expected to fill in the race was postponed.

Likewise on Monday the two and three handed race managed to get a start away, before fading out and dying out completely forcing the race to be abandoned.

Re-sails are all the rage this season, so we have quite a few series still to be decided.

Aggregate Series

Three races left, the leaders have see-sawed all season, it could be anyone’s series.

Div 1 – just 10 points separate the leading 6 boats

Div 2 – just 6 points separate the leading 6 boats

Passage Aggregate

Div 1 – just 6 points separate the leading 6 boats

Div 2 – just 2 points separate the leading 2 boats and the next 2 separated by 2 points as well – some mini battles to come.

CBA Coastal Living State Championships

Div 1 – Super- tight 5 points separating the top 9 boats!

Div 2 – just 6 points separate the leading 6 boats with a tie for first place

Once again we are looking at the weather models and it may be that the warning signal times may be adjusted to aim for the best weather window.
