Important Notice re Appointment of General Manager

The SSCBC General Committee is delighted to announce that after an extensive search and selection process, we have appointed Gavin Wall as SSCBC’s General Manager (GM).
Gavin comes from a well-rounded background across sailing, hospitality and member based clubs. The breadth and depth of his experience meant he was the stand-out candidate amongst some very capable individuals, and he is well equipped to deliver on our priorities of driving growth in sailing, delivering an outstanding Member experience and ensuring the effective operations of our redeveloped Clubhouse.
Gavin is highly regarded for his expertise in sailing development, and was previously the Victorian Regional Manager of Australian Sailing. More recently, he was the General Manager at Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron, leading their operations across sailing, the marina and food & beverage, and has extensive experience in hospitality, having managed and operated venues in both Australia and overseas.
I, together with the General Committee, am very impressed with Gavin’s passion for customer care and Member engagement, and know that he is looking forward to spending time at the Club to get to know our wonderful cohort of Members, whether they are sailors, social members or families.
As incoming GM, Gavin commented: I am thrilled to be joining SSCBC as General Manager. Having lived on the Peninsula for a number of years, I know SSCBC’s outstanding reputation in sailing, and their community of Members, and I am looking forward to working closely with Members and the team to help guide the Club through a new and exciting phase.
Gavin is expected to commence at SSCBC in early May, following the departure of current CEO, Henry Dyer.
