Urgent information regarding SSCBC Closure 4-5 January

Today (3 January 2022) the Club has been made aware of two further COVID-19 cases in our team who have tested positive to a Rapid Antigen Test. Both are fully vaccinated. As a Club, our focus is always on the health and wellbeing of our staff, Members and guests. Taking into consideration the guidelines provided by the Victorian Government regarding workplace contacts, the subsequent impact cases are having on our sail training and food and beverage operations, and in light of the broader outbreak of COVID-19 on the Mornington Peninsula, we have decided to close the Club for the 4th and 5th of January as the most appropriate course of action.

At this stage, Couta’s Fish and Chips and The Galley will open on the 5th of January.

To reiterate, at all times our Club has operated in accordance with the Club’s COVID Plan and all Government guidelines and this is why we have made this difficult decision again.

Our Club is not alone in this. Our shift towards ‘living with COVID’ is a challenging one, but SSCBC will reopen as soon as we can, always in a COVID safe manner.

A deep clean of the Clubhouse will occur today, and we will continue to keep you informed of further developments. As always, we remind any Member who tests positive and was infectious whilst at the Club to please notify us so that we can manage any impacts accordingly. A full overview of cases known to the Club can be found here: https://sscbc.com.au/policies-procedures-for-covid-safe-operations/

We thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you back at the Club very soon.

Kind regards,

Georgie Silverwood
