Bernie Ross Award – Bernie was a passionate fisherman and sailor who was there right at the start. It is given to the person who makes the biggest contribution to the club and Couta Boat sailing. Sometimes it is about hard work. Sometimes it is about stirring the pot and sometimes it is about creating change.

  • Lachie McKenzie

Barnie Beauchamp Award – Donated by Mr. Eric Wareing, in late 1989, to perpetuate the memory of Barney Beauchamp, this trophy is awarded to the Club Yachtsman of the Year. It can be awarded for non-racing activities, e.g. administration, rescue boats, etc.

Barney Beauchamp was a very active club member who generously gave his time to patrolling and assisting at the club. The continued presentation of the trophy was made possible by the generous donation of a sum of money by Mrs. Joyce Beauchamp in 1992 enabling an annual perpetual trophy to be bought from the interest. Initially the executor of Barney Beauchamp’s estate wanted to donate money for an Honours Board.
