Chief Executive Officer – SSCBC

As per Commodore Graham Cunningham’s notification to Members on 29 May 2019:

Our General Manager, Phil Hall will be leaving us on or before 27 September 2019.

Phil joined us soon after our Clubhouse was built back in 2007. As our General Manager he has played a valuable role in developing our on-water and off-water services and activities for our Members. When he joined SSCBC, we had 1100 Members. We now have 2800 Members.

Often seen out on the water providing support for our race management teams, ferrying Couta boat crews to and from their boats, in the dining room or bar making sure that everything is going well. There late at night, to make sure the Clubhouse is ready for the next day. He has been a hands-on Manager, well known and well liked by our Members.

Phil has recruited and managed our successful SSCBC management team, providing direction and support. Alongside overseeing our catering contractors to deliver hospitality services that our Members have enjoyed for many years.

In terms of governance of the Club, Phil has worked well with seven Commodores, several Committees, sub Committees and Volunteers over his time with us.

The fact that your Club is in a sound financial position reflects well on Phil.

In my time as Commodore I have enjoyed working with Phil and valued his advice. On behalf of all our Members, I thank him for the significant contribution he has made to the development and success of SSCBC. I wish him well in whatever direction he decides to take in his professional career.

As Phil will still be at the Club for some time please take time out to thank him for his services to your Club.

Phil’s role as General Manager has been made redundant.

We are retaining an executive search firm to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer. Please see the advertisement for this CEO position here.
