Opening Day 2024-25
Thank you to all invited guests, Members, Committee and Staff who made Opening Day on Saturday such a success. It was heart warming to see the number of people who attended the formal ceremony, where Commodore Scott Llewelyn welcomed in the new season, flag officers were presented with their club flags by Andrew Skinner and Fred Allen, our major partner of the new SSCBC Sailing Academy, TLC Healthcare was warmly welcomed and James Mighell unveiled a new plaque on the jetty about the history of the beautiful Couta Boats.
Club Captain Harry Mighell announced our new Junior Club Captains for 2024-25, so a huge congratulations to:
Charlie Kelley
Tate Cantwell.
We know you will do an outstanding job as leaders in the Sailing Centre. Thank you to all who applied for these positions. It was not an easy job selecting the captains for this year from such a strong contingent.
On the water, Tim & Sally Phillips from The Wooden Boatshop generously provided Jane Kerr and Winter Cove for our invited guests to enjoy the spectacle of watching the sail past and the first Couta Boat race of the season. Thank you Tim and Sally. It certainly was a unique experience for our guests and we thank you for your efforts. Everyone thorougly enjoyed themselves.
