Australian Sailing have launched the Zhik Australian eSailing National Challenge. Yes, it’s virtual sailing using a computer! This is a great opportunity to keep your sailing mind sharp and maybe even learn some new skills. Even if you do not wish to participate in the competition, it can be great fun and there is a sailing school to take you through the basic boat handling skills.
Working backwards, the State Titles are being held 22-24 May. SSCBC needs to nominate one Champion to represent the Club. We must submit our Champion prior to 18 May, so with that in mind and to give people the best opportunity to practise, we aim to run our SSCBC eSailing Championship over the weekend of 16-17 May. A NOR will go out shortly after we see the initial take up.
These are relatively uncharted waters and SSCBC wants our representative to win the overall Nationals on 28 May, which will be streamed live. SSCBC will run practise races and regattas commencing 29 April in the lead up to our eSailing Club Championship.
